Theasophie's apprenticeship with Yunhaizhidian took place in Xishuangbanna in what are considered the orthodox Pu'er mountains. So, for us, Lincang is new territory, our curiosity inspired by the historical Bulang migration through the region and our enduring quest for the origins of tea.
This Imperial Grade selection includes a small ratio of stem material interspersed within the delicate golden bud and leaf sets. A more rustic version of our previous 2006 offering, yet with a similar wood-like aroma characteristic of large-leaf material, providing structure and supporting the flavor expression. We're consistently surprised by the brewing responsiveness and dynamic profile of this new offering!
